Bathroom remodeling costs typically range from $15,000 TT to $80,000 TT, but many homeowners will pay around $30,000 TT on average. First your location – if you’re in Tobago you can double some of these numbers because of material imports, if you are in Woodbrook you can stick to the higher estimates because of the labor and material prices but if you’re in Sando, Rio Claro or Icacas you will have a more reasonable range in costs as labor will be less expensive. Many factors contribute to the costs including square footage (estimate about $520 sq. ft. for a budget remodel outside of town or Tobago) and layout of the structure. There is also the consideration of the location of plumbing and electrical, how extensive is the remodel (a complete tear down and rebuild vs. changing finishes) and what quality and price of materials will be used for your remodeling vision.
What adds the most value to a bathroom remodel (and what costs the most?)

A budget remodel would be in the range of $35,000 TT – $100,000 TT and would give you a brighter, renewed look. This includes painting, retiling and changing one or two features like an oblong toilet or a upgraded vanity. This type of limited remodel can produce dramatic results when a modern color pallet is used and incorporates upgraded knobs and handles on fixtures. Upgrading the shower head and faucets can also be included in this range and will take a bathroom into the modern era with class and poise.
Does updating the tiling in my bathroom add value to my home?
Tiling alone will not have the potential impact on home value if the remaining parts of the bathroom are not improved. Tiling is complimentary to refreshing other aspects when bathroom remodeling, such as a spa shower or standalone tub. If the toilet and vanity are old and the faucets are dated and the shower/bathtub set up is from the early 2000’s there is no point in upgrading the tiling if it is to improve the value of your bathroom. So update everything in the wet areas and update the tile to a current or timeless style for an overall lift in home value.
